“ABSS -FIRST CULTURAL ORGANISATION IN INDIA WHICH HAS BECOME AN OFFICIAL PARTNER OF UNESCO ”

The  Director General Of UNESCO Hon. Irina Bokova announced her decision to establish a formal Partnership (Consultative Status) between UNESCO & Akhil Bharatiya Sanskrutik Sangh (ABSS) to explore new possibilities of synergy , collaboration within the framework of the current programmer and priorities of UNESCO ,particularly  as regards to cultural & social events and uplifting of children & youth .

And finally on 7th August 2017 the Assistant Director General For External Relations & Public Information Hon. Mr. Eric Falt announced the admission of our organisation Akhil Bharatiya Sanskrutik Sangh (ABSS) in UNESCO with Partnership(Consultative Status).

The 2018 edition of the conference focused on the theme "Enhancing and promoting the commitment and contribution of UNESCO's NGO partners" and was organized around two subthemes: "Acting together: The collective strength of NGOs" and "Communication, information, dialogue". The Conference provided a welcome opportunity to examine collective NGO action carried out in 2017 and 2018, and considered the main lines of collective cooperation for 2019-2020.

Moreover, as is customary, participants was called upon to elect a new Chairperson for the Conference, as well as a new NGO-UNESCO Liaison Committee which, would be composed of ten NGO partners (four with associate status and six with consultative status) representing all regions of the world.

UNESCO Headquarters, 17TH December 2018 - ELECTION OF THE MEMBERS OF THE NGO-UNESCO LIAISON COMMITTEE

All NGOs in official partnership with UNESCO under the terms of the Directives had the right to take part in the proceedings of the Conference with the right to vote.

The elections of the members of the NGO-UNESCO Liaison Committee was held in two ballots, the first ballot allowing the election of six (6) organizations having each its headquarters in one of the regions defined by UNESCO, and the second ballot allowing to fill the remaining seats taking also into account the distribution of seats based on the status of partnership (association and consultation).

The Conference elected a NGO-UNESCO Liaison Committee made up of ten (10) NGOs in official partnership with UNESCO: four (4) with associate status and six (6) with consultative status. In accordance with section XI.1.2 of the Directives, all of the regions, as defined by UNESCO
